I am amazed at the mathematical talk and play that goes on when you give a group of kinders a box of collections. I’ve been enjoying listening in on my little mathematicians’ conversations and pushing their thinking by posing a “what if” or “why do you think” question. It’s very interesting to see what children sort the collections, count 1:1, check their work, count in small groups or simply engage in dramatic play with the collections. I’m learning so much about my kids as I observe and interact during our Math Explore time. Thank you for sharing the math that’s going on in your room!
